ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO- A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was injured early Sunday morning after being rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver. The driver struck the rear of the trooper's vehicle during a traffic stop on northbound I-170 near Scudder Road just before 3:30am.
Our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report that the trooper is recuperating from a broken leg. The trooper had stopped a vehicle on the shoulder and was inside his patrol vehicle when it was struck. The trooper's car was then pushed into the rear of the vehicle the trooper had pulled over. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.
