ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis police department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 7 pm Wednesday evening when shots were fired from a vehicle into another on I-70 near Broadway.

Fox2 has been told a child suffered an injury to a finger from broken glass that was hit by a bullet.

Police say the car exited the interstate and stopped at Red Bud Avenue and Kossuth to call for help.  Officers arriving on the scene examined the vehicle and found a bullet hole in the back window.  The shattered glass from window injured the infant.

Police say the injury appears to be minor, and the infant was not transported to a hospital for treatment.

An investigation is ongoing.
