ARNOLD, MO- There was a standing ovation when Officer O`Connor arrived Tuesday and was reunited with his colleagues.
Tuesday was the first time many of O'Connor's colleagues had seen him since he left for treatment at a Colorado facility a few months ago. The 44-year-old was shot back in December by a burglary suspect outside the police department.
The Arnold Police Chief Robert Shockey and the department chaplain were the only two who knew about Tuesday's event ahead of time. Everyone else believed O`Connor was on his way to Nebraska for more treatment.
Officer O`Connor received the Officer Of The Year and support from his brothers and sisters in blue.
