ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - St. Louis County Police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy drowned in a pool in a north county apartment complex. Police have identified the boy as Terrance Green. Residents who live in the apartment complex are heartbroken.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. at the Lucas and Hunt Village Apartments Complex in the 5300 block of Lucas and Hunt.

Police say it appears that the boy was swimming with a group of family and friends without adult supervision when he went underwater in the deep end of the pool and didn’t resurface. The oldest person in the group was 13 years old.

Children from the pool alerted a woman nearby. The woman pulled the child from the water and began CPR while someone called 911 for help.

The boy was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There are warning signs on the pool that read no lifeguard on duty and that children under the age of 18 must not use the pool without an adult in attendance.

The incident is being investigated by the St. Louis Police Department.
