OSCELOA, Mo. – Authorities say at least three people have drowned over the weekend in Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the first drowning happened around noon Saturday downstream of the Missouri 13 bridge in Truman Lake. The victim was identified as 62-year-old Edgar Tyler, of Independence.

St. Louis County Police say that around 6:45 p.m. that night, 12-year-old Terrance Green, of Hazelwood, drowned in the deep end of an apartment pool. His mother, Kendra Robinson, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Terrance “just wanted to swim with the other kids” but didn’t know how.

The patrol says the third victim, 28-year-old Michael Simmons, of Springfield, went missing later that night 4 miles (about 6.5 kilometers) south of Greenfield in Turnback Creek. His friends found him about 20 minutes later.
