St. Charles county considers selling Family Arena

ST. CHARLES, Mo.-  The 10,000 seat St. Charles Family Arena opened in 1999.  According to a city financial report, the arena costs $32million by the end of 2016.

Today the arena still has an approximate $15 million in outstanding bond debt.  The building also operated at a loss in 2016 generating about $7 million in revenue versus $9 million in expenses.

The St Charles County Executive said the county is under no obligation to sell, but they are open to see if there is a market for the family arena.  The county has issued a request for proposal from potential buyers on Monday, July 9.
