MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - The Maryland Heights Police Department is investigating an ATM theft at the Bank of America on West Port Plaza Drive, across the street from Westport Plaza.

The ATM appears as if it’s back to normal, but it is not yet back in service.

A thief or thieves ripped into the ATM machine Thursday afternoon. It is unclear whether they got away with any money, but they definitely left a trail of evidence.

There are multiple surveillance cameras around where the incident occurred. Police picked up what appeared to be a manila envelop from the middle of West Port Plaza Drive. It also appears that the criminals left behind evidence in the form of blood.

Police are still on the scene investigating.
