PEORIA, Ill. (AP) _ Quest Charter Academy in Peoria is seeking volunteers for its “Village of Men” to welcome students back to school.

The welcome will be Aug. 1 at 8 a.m. The idea is that men and women who volunteer in line the school grounds and cheer the students as they enter school. Officials say it shows them they are loved, valued and “supported in their `quest to be the best.”’

The Village of Men will be expanded this year to Quest’s high school as well as its middle school.

Officials say more than 100 men participated in the Village of Men during its debut last year.
