GARDEN CITY, Mo. – A 19-year-old man is facing multiple charges after injuring law enforcement officers while they were trying to arrest him.

The Cass County Sheriff’s office says a Missouri State trooper suffered serious injuries and a sheriff’s deputy broke a finger during the arrest Sunday in Garden City.

Jesse Hodges is charged with first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, fourth-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and two counts of second-degree property damage.

The Kansas City Star reports officers responded to a call that Hodges had damaged a vehicle and broke windows on a home.

The sheriff says Hodges fought two deputies and two troopers who tried to arrest him. The sheriff says Hodges was not affected by Tasers.

He is being held in the Cass County jail on $250,000 cash bond.
