Alton High School teacher facing sexual assault charges

ALTON, Ill. – The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office charged a teacher at an area high school Friday for having a sexual relationship with a student.

Jordan Graham, 28, of Godfrey, was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal sexual assault - all felonies. Graham was a teacher in the English department at Alton High School.

According to a letter sent to parents from the Alton School District, school officials received word of an inappropriate relationship involving a student and teacher at Alton High School. School officials immediately reported the information to the Madison County Sheriff's Department and a full investigation was launched leading to the teacher's arrest.

Graham was arrested and booked into the Madison County Jail. He posted a $10,000 cash bail Friday afternoon and was released. He is expected to appear in court in two weeks.

A judge ordered Graham to not have any contact with his victim.

Authorities have not disclosed the age of the victim nor gone into detail about the origins of the illicit relationship. Investigators said, at this point, they do not believe there are any additional victims.
