Man charged in deaths of 2 people in Ferguson arrested

Darrick Antione Barber

FERGUSON, Mo. – A man charged in the deaths of his former girlfriend and another person in Ferguson, Missouri, has been arrested in Georgia.

The suspect, 26-year-old Darrick Antione Barber, was charged Aug. 4 with two counts of first-degree murder, but had been on the run since the fatal shootings of 25-year-old Jeannie Nicole Miller and 28-year-old Eric Johnson that same day.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Barber was arrested by U.S. marshals in Atlanta on Friday.

Miller had an order of protection against Barber before her death. She claimed he was stalking her.

A witness told police that Barber walked into Miller’s home with a gun and shots were fired.

Ferguson, a St. Louis suburb, became well-known after the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in 2014.
