ST. LOUIS — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the St. Louis area through Monday evening. Our next winter storm arrived right on schedule late Monday morning, sending snow showers north and east into the St. Louis region.
Snow will continue through the afternoon and into the evening before exiting off to the east. Accumulations will be around 1 inch, with higher totals to the southwest along the I-44 corridor.
While most accumulations will be limited mainly to grass, elevated roadways such as bridges and overpasses could become slick.
As of late Monday afternoon, roads were wet but snow-covered. As the skies clear and temps drop, there could be some refreezing, maybe similar to Friday night. The cold air is still way below normal -- lows in the lower 20s and teens, which is about 20 degrees below the norm. Expect a cold bus stop Tuesday morning. In fact, it'll be a cold day all the way around Tuesday, with highs in the lower 30s.
