Two dead, one injured after north St. Louis shooting

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Two men are dead and another is injured after a shooting in north St. Louis.

According to Officer Michelle Woodling, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, police received several calls about a shooting around 1:30 p.m. outside an apartment building in the 5600 block of Minerva, located in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. That is where officers found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was conscious and taken to an area hospital. Two other victims were pronounced dead at the scene. At least 15 shell casings were spotted in the area of the shooting.

Witnesses said two masked men pulled up in a car, got out armed with long guns, and opened fire at the three victims.

Police have not identified the victims but resident David Williams said one of the men was his 29-year-old son.

"There was some guys had on black and blue masks, they walked up on them. I heard like about 20 shots and went outside when I heard the shots. I came out and seen him laying there him and my nephew," Williams said.

"As always, we're asking for help from the public. If anyone seen anything or heard anything and was afraid to come forward at the scene, I would urge them to call CrimeStoppers," said Lt. Scott Aubuchon, commander of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's homicide division. "We always need help in these cases and we'll need help in this case as well."

Police said they're looking for a four-door 2005 Dodge Charger, grey or brown in color.
