Pipe bomb discovered on Highway 21 in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. – Highway 21 reopened Friday evening after the St. Louis Regional Bomb Squad removed a pipe bomb along the road.

According to Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen, the explosive was discovered north of Simpson Road.

Traffic was diverted across Highway E and Highway 47 during the road closure.
