Ameren announces $6.3 billion, 5-year upgrade plan

ST.LOUIS - Ameren is working to improve service for millions of customers in Missouri.

The utility company unveiled a $6.3 billion plan to upgrade infrastructure statewide.

The Smart Energy Plan includes two thousand projects to improve and modernize the energy grid.

Also in the plan is a new substation in North St. Louis County, that Ameren officials say will rapidly detect and isolate outages decreasing restoration time.
