CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) – A 20-year-old man being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center has died, the jail’s third death this year.

The center’s acting director says the deaths are unrelated.

Lamar Derell Catchings was found unresponsive in his cell Friday morning. He had been jailed since April for assault with serious injury and other charges.

Acting director Julia Childrey says in a statement that police are investigating but there were no immediate signs of foul play or suicide.

A former DEA agent arrested for suspicion of domestic battery, 51-year-old Larry Reavis, was found dead in the infirmary in January. A medical examiner’s report obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch blamed alcohol abuse as the primary cause.

Twenty-nine-year-old John Shy died Saturday after twice being hospitalized for stomach pain.
