Springfield man charged in death of 19-year-old woman
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Missouri man was charged Friday with killing a 19-year-old woman whose body was found more than a week after she went missing.
Lonnie Leroy Williams, 32, of Springfield, faces one count of first-degree murder in the death of Mackenna Milhon. Williams’ girlfriend, 23-year-old Olivia Vega, was charged with tampering with evidence afterward. It wasn’t immediately known if they had attorneys who could speak on their behalf.
Milhon’s body was found Monday afternoon outside a home north of Springfield.
Police and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said Milhon had been reported missing Dec. 20. An Endangered Person Advisory that was issued in the case said she was last seen getting into a black vehicle at a gas station in Springfield.
Milhon’s birth at 1:08 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2000. made her the first baby of the millennium born at Cox South hospital in Springfield. In happier times, Gabryal Milhon told the Springfield News-Leader that he planned to spend his first few days with his daughter watching football.
The Greene County prosecutor’s office said in a news release that the investigation was ongoing and that it was premature to announce whether it would seek the death penalty in the case against Williams.
