ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Ayad Akhtar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced is the most produced play in America right now. The difficult and controversial work is now on stage as part of The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis’ 49th season.
The play centers on Amir Kapoor, a corporate lawyer and second-generation Pakistani American lawyer who has disowned his Islamic heritage. He and his wife live a posh life on Manhatten’s Upper East Side. But as Amir discovers, everything can change in the blink of an eye and his carefully constructed world begins to unravel events lead his colleagues to see him not as a successful attorney, but, for the first time, as a Muslim.

Disgraced is onstage through March 6, 2016 at The Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts at Webster University, home to The Rep.
