ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will soon kick off its 2016-2017 season at Powell Symphony Hall, its 137th season. Music director David Robertson will conduct the free annual Forest Park concert on Wednesday, September 14, that will give attendees a preview of what’s to come.

Symphony goers this season can expect everything from Beethoven piano concertos to a semi-staged opera to assorted premieres and plenty of orchestral favorites.

The opening weekend, September 17-18, will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Lindbergh’s historic flight across the Atlantic with the Symphony and Chorus and feature a complimentary champagne toast during intermission.
