ST. LOUIS –  More and more homeowners and businesses are choosing alarm systems to scare away burglars. However, some of those companies engage in unethical practices.

More than 6,000 complaints were logged last year with the Better Business Bureau which is an increase of nearly 30 percent over two years.

Chris Thetford of the Better Business Bureau in St. Louis tells FOX 2/ KPLR 11’s Dan Gray about some consumer complaints.
