ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Would you give up 15 minutes of your life to help save the life of someone else. This Saturday, you could help save 1 of 14 thousand  people with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers waiting for a donor match at Busch Stadium's "Be the Match Registry".

Ron Bretz, a three year cancer survivor, knows the importance of this registry. His transplant donor was found in Germany, a 21 year old man who had just recently joined the registry! He's encouraging others to participate, it only takes 15 minutes.

Unlike other transplants, a bone marrow transplant is based on race not dna, so a sibling only has a 30% change of being a match. They are desperate to add more diversity to our registry.  Out of the 13.5 million on the registry about 61% are caucasians.

You must be in the age range from 18 to 44. Head to the family pavilion in Busch Stadium from 4:15 PM to 8 PM this Saturday, August 6th to have the opportunity to help more than 14,000 people with blood cancers.
