(KTVI) – An announcement this summer rocked the Down Syndrome community.   A Massachusetts scientist announced there may be a way to silence the chromosome that causes Down Syndrome.

Could a cure be close?  If so, it creates all kinds of ethical questions.

Michelle Martin, with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis, stopped by to talk with John Pertzborn about the implications of this breakthrough.

To be clear, this testing is on a cellular level and has not been tested on mice.
