ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI)- Before the shuttered Crestwood Court is demolished, fans of the longtime south St. Louis County mall can attend a food truck event next month on the parking lot to say goodbye.
The city of Crestwood and the St. Louis Food Truck Association are hosting the "Food Truck Party at the Plaza" on Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. to about 7 p.m.
The Joe Dirt And The Dirty Boys Band is slated to perform from 2 to 6 p.m., and 26 food trucks and a kids play area are scheduled. Crestwood's Pints and Rails Tavern will sell beer and wine.
Last week, Crestwood approved Chicago-based developer UrbanStreet Group's tax supported plan to move forward with a $104 million redevelopment for new retail, entertainment, dining and housing on the 47-acre parcel. Pending zoning approvals, construction is tentatively slated to take between two-and-a-half to three years, Belcher said.
The 1.1 million square foot Crestwood Court, which was also called Crestwood Shopping Center and Crestwood Plaza over the years, opened in 1957 and closed in 2013.
