ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  Tomorrow, October 1st, marks 23 years since the abduction and murder of 12 year old Polly Klaas.

Her father Marc Klaas founded the KlassKids Foundation with the mission of stopping crimes against children.

Marc Klaas joins us to talk about their upcoming event, KlaasKids Kirkwood-Oakland Day Out, taking place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kirkwood Police Department.

Each participating child will receive a comprehensive packet of child safety tools including digitized fingerprints, an updated photograph, a DNA Collection Kit developed by the California DNA Laboratory, pro-active child safety tips and a 9-point plan on what to do if your child disappears.

Everything is completely private. No fingerprints or photographs provided for families will be put into databases.

It’s free for parents and guardians of children of all ages.
