ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Launching a new career has never been so easy, and it won't cost anything but time and commitment. LaunchCode, a startup nonprofit, aims to educate students through a free 20-week coding course designed to put people on a path towards a career in technology. Brendan Lind, the executive director of LaunchCode, notes that writing code is the heartbeat and brain of any computer system.

LaunchCode plans to enroll 300 students in education programs in St. Louis this summer. Students will be expected to spend six hours a week in class and a minimum of 10-15 hours outside of class.

Students will also be granted free access to LaunchCode`s mentor center throughout the duration of the course.
