Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is a disease that attacks the central nervous system, the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms range from numbness in the limbs, all the way to paralysis. During MS Awareness Week, March 12-18, 2012, people will gather to share, educate and build awareness.

The Gateway Chapter of the MS Society will host an awareness rally Sunday, March 11, from 1:00-3:00pm at St. Louis Community College Meramec Campus Gym. Wendy Booker, the first person with MS to conquer six of the world’s tallest mountains, will be the guest speaker.
