New workshops shows how important gardening is to communities

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Matt Even, Gateway Greening, and Brigette Zettl, Crown Valley Organics, visit the 9 AM Show to discuss the importance of community gardens. Gateway Greening is a non-profit organization whose goal is to educate and empower people to improve their communities through gardening and urban agriculture.

Paired with Crown Valley Organics, Gateway Greening is hosting an educational event at the St. Louis Science Center’s GROW Exhibit. They will be focusing on what you need to do to prepare for fall crops, which one of the best growing seasons because of opportunity for preserving food. Participants will also learn how to preserve the bounty of garden through fermentation and herbal extractions.

The event is this Saturday, July 16th, from 10 AM to 12 PM
