ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Remember the big concert series set for downtown on Memorial Day and Labor Day? They’re on hold for now.
The “Summer Rocks” event that the city agreed to has yet to be fully funded.
Los Angeles-based ICM Partners billed the concert series for St. Louis as something on the scale of Lollapalooza in Chicago. But city officials confirm the event near Soldiers’ Memorial in downtown St. Louis will not happen this Memorial Day weekend.
The mayor’s office says in place of the Memorial Day concert, work is underway for a barbecue event similar to the size of Taste St. Louis, which moved to Chesterfield last year.
