ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Qualifying is underway for the Nathan’s Famous Hot-Dog Eating Contest.  There will be a sanctioned hot dog-eating contest on Saturday April 16,  at Noon, before the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds at Busch Stadium. The top male and female finishers will qualify for a seat at the Nathan`s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island on July 4th, 2016.

This year, 2016, marks the 100th Anniversary of the Nathan’s Famous Hot-Dog Eating Contest.

In 2015, Matthew Stonie of San Jose, CA, won the Nathan’s Famous Men’s Title by consuming 62 Hot Dogs and Buns in 10 minutes.  Miki Sudo won the Ladies’ Title with 38 Hot Dogs and Buns.
