St. Louis, MO (KTVI) Olde Town Spice Shoppe owner Carol Hurst is celebrating the last few hours of the Mardi Gras Season with Butter Beer Shrimp.
This is Fat Tuesday, the day before the Lenten season of fasting begins. Live it up with this decadent dish.
Beer Butter Shrimp - From The Olde Town Spice Shoppe
- 1# shrimp, peeled and deveined, raw
- 2 tbl butter
- 1 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp onion
- ½ tsp Thyme
- ½ tsp Oregano
- ½ tsp Basil
- ½ tsp Ground cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup beer
Saute shrimp in butter in saucepan along with herbs until shrimp is light pink. Add beer and simmer for 1 minute. Serve over rice, grits, pasta or potatoes.
