ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Laura Bubb, community outreach coordinator with St. Anthony’s Medical Center, visits Fox 2 News to talk about a special event at South County Center to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The "Paint The Mall Pink" event (10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday) will have nurses on hand to discuss recommendations for early detection, teach women what a breast mass feels like and how to give themselves a proper self-exam, and answer any questions.

To keep this important message top of mind throughout October, the mall will be adorned with pink floor décor while pink ceiling lights shine in the common areas. Throughout October, many of the mall’s retailers will offer special merchandise and promotions with proceeds benefiting breast cancer awareness, research and prevention.
