ST.LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Last night, Twitter went crazy again with 'pallegations' that Donald Trump Jr's speech might be plagiarized; just like his step mom the night before. The Daily Show tweeted the similarity between junior's words and those of F.H. Buckley, a law professor and writer for the American Conservative. But it wasn't plagiarism, turns out F.H. Buckley helped write the speech for Trump Jr. It appears every republican and democrat speech will be under the microscope from now until the election day.
Sister Jan Hayes examines papers every day at Webster University as a Communications professor. She says plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own and without giving credit to the original author.
Most candidates and presidents have speech writers, but Sister Jan still says previous work should be credited. She says this is extremely important, especially in college where students could be expelled for plagiarizing.
