(KTVI) – A work of art created in Chesterfield Valley will soon greet wounded warriors at the new Walter Reed Recovery Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
St. Louis Artist Don Wiegand’s latest creation was commissioned by the USO to create this portrait sculpture of the late Prescott Bush. In World War II, Bush raised 43 million dollars for the war effort. If the sculpture looks familiar, it should. Prescott Bush had a son and a grandson who both became U.S. Presidents. Don Wiegand will be at Walter Reed on March 31st for the unveiling.
By the way, Wiegand’s most visible sculpture is Gussie Busch at entrance to Busch Stadium.
