ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Author of Seize the Day Abby Gustus Alford writes about her inspirational story of growing up and learning to live a happy, healthy life with epilepsy.

Abby Gustus Alford is a St. Louis native who graduated from Parkway Central.  At the age of 14, Abby was diagnosed with epilepsy. After some tough years, she went on to graduate with two college degrees and her Masters in Journalism. She started working professionally in the construction industry in St. Louis before moving to Texas.

Through her volunteer work with the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas, Abby found having someone to talk to about real life experiences beyond the medical community was not only helpful but necessary. Her network within the epilepsy community is continuously growing as she spreads her message of hope.

Success in her marketing career brought her to Texas, where she now works as the Training and Communications Manager for a global commercial real estate firm and lives a happy and healthy life with her husband, Evan, and their pride and joy puppies, Huey and Teddy.

Alford gives helpful tips throughout her book on how to lead a happy life with epilepsy.  Her paperback books  for $14.99 are available on Amazon and select bookstores. Kindle version is available on Amazon for $9.99.
