ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – It’s national French toast day! Vin de Set Executive Chef Bob Colosimo stopped by to show Tim how they make their famous stuffed French toast.  You can get this treat during their brunch – or make it yourself. We’ve included the recipe below.

Stuffed French Toast

2ea. Baguette
1 lb. cream cheese
1/2 pt. strawberries (sliced)
1/2 pt. blueberries
1/2 pt. raspberries

Egg Batter

5 eggs
2c. heavy cream
1 T. vanilla extract
2 T. cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar


Whip cream cheese in a mixing bowl until fluffy; fold berries and place in refrigerator for 5 minutes. Slice baguette long ways to form a pocket; stuff cream cheese mixture in baguette, cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator overnight.

Egg Batter

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Cut baguette in 2 inch slices and dip in egg batter. Spray your saute pan with non-stick cooking spray and griddle toast until golden brown; dust with powdered sugar and enjoy.
