(KTVI)-Mi`a Destiny Gullet is turning 16 in September. But instead of thinking about big parties and new cars, she is raising money for The National Kidney Foundation. Gullet’s father, Mark, and others in her family had or have kidney failure. Mark received a kidney from one of his nurses after going through four years of dialysis.

Mi’a wants to raise $10,000. She is having a fashion show brunch, called “Spring Explosion”, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Bridgeton (Lindbergh and I-70) on Saturday, April 27, 2013. The event is from 2:00pm until 5:00pm and is $20 at the door. You can bid on outfits you see modeled at the event.

Mi’a is also walking in the National Kidney Foundation Walk, also on Saturday, on the Saint Louis University Campus to help others raise money for the same cause.
