ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The Green Strum Project was formed by Kelly Wells and Ryan Spearman to explore connections between sustainability and the arts in St. Louis. The project aims to raise awareness of sustainability and the importance of healthy, local economy through events, educational workshops and musical performances.

The Green Strum Project will be hosting a workshop on Earth Day in Forest Park to teach people how to make these instruments. They will also host a Band Scramble competition.  Participants will create a green strum instrument and the perform a song on the Earth Day Cafe stage.

The St. Louis Earth Day Festival takes place on April 22nd in Forest Park on the Muny Grounds.
