(KTVI) – Researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said more kids are being diagnosed with some form of Autism and that one in 68 American children have the disorder.

They also found boys are five times more likely to be diagnosed with the disorder, while African-American and Hispanic children are less likely to be diagnosed than white children.

Rob Fitzgerald of Washington University was also a researcher with the study. He joined FOX2’s Kim Hudson to explain the findings and what parents can do help their children as early as possible.

You can see the study for yourself at the CDC’s March 27, 2014 issue of the “Mortality and Morbidity Weekly Report” at http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss6302a1.htm?s_cid=ss6302a1_w
