ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Toasted Ravioli, Iced Tea, and Waffle Cones! These are all on the list of well known foods that were invented in St. Louis. Well, add Chex Mix to your list! The salty snack was created in St. Louis in 1951.

Rosejoan Holden, who worked for Gardener Advertising, was tasked to make people eat the cereal in the daytime! So she went forth and created the popular snack. The original mix has been modified, but the idea remains the same.

Rosejoan is now 90 years old and lives in Town and Country. She gives recipe cards out so that everyone knows she invented it!

Thank you Rosejoan for the yummy snack!
