Emily Manley

Emily Manley is the chief capitol bureau reporter at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City for Nexstar stations. Emily joined the team back in June of 2020. She was most recently the News Director/Instructor for Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois. She reported and filled-in as anchor for WSIL-TV in Carterville, Illinois, and she was an Assignment Desk Editor/Producer for KMOV-TV (CBS) in St. Louis.

She’s originally from Highland, Illinois but has enjoyed becoming a Missourian and reporting on legislation that affects the state. She currently lives in mid-Missouri.

Emily received her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb, and completed her Master of Arts with an emphasis in Public Affairs Reporting at the University of Illinois, Springfield.  She worked as an intern for WICS’s statehouse bureau in Springfield, Illinois. That is where she also covered legislative efforts, committee hearings, and a gubernatorial election during grad school. 

Her achievements include 2017 NATAS Mid-America Student Awards for Best Newscast, Executive Producer/Reporter and Serious News Reporting.

When Emily isn’t reporting, you can find her exploring a local coffee shop, traveling, walking her dog, golfing or spending time outside.
