Margie Ellisor co-anchors FOX 2 News in the Morning at 5:00 am-7:00 am. You can see her Margie’s Money Saver segments weekdays because “Saving dollars just makes sense.”
Margie joined FOX 2 News in June of 1999 as a general assignment reporter. Margie has also had quite a stint in radio, co-hosting with Smash on KSD-FM, anchoring the news on Z-107-7, and then as a newscaster and cast member on the nationally syndicated Steve and DC Radio Show.
Before starting at FOX 2, Margie worked as a morning anchor and reporter for KMOV-TV. Before making the move to St. Louis she worked for KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri as a weekday anchor/reporter. She’s been recognized for numerous honors.
Margie won Outstanding News Series Awards from the Missouri Broadcaster’s Association, and first place for spot news coverage from the Kansas City Press Club. Margie has also received two Emmy Awards for community service and news series work.
Margie spends a lot of her spare time with charities. Her main focus is helping children born with disabilities. She has served on the Board of Directors and the Communications Committee for the March of Dimes. She is also active with the the Children’s Miracle Network and St. Louis Learning Disabilities.
Margie graduated from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota with a double major. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Television and a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication.
Margie grew up in Minnesota, but now considers St. Louis home. She says, “I love the city and all that it has to offer. I have been so fortunate in my time here to meet and work with incredibly talented people. I feel very blessed to work in the field of broadcasting and hope to make a difference in people’s lives.
