
Laura Simon anchors FOX 2 News in the Morning weekends from 6-8:30 a.m. You can catch her reporting live during the week.
As a St. Louis native, Laura takes pride in her Midwest values and strong work-ethic behind-the-scenes.
Before starting at KTVI/KPLR, Laura anchored the #1 weekday morning newscast at KFSM in Northwest Arkansas. She was promoted to that role in 2018 after four years of working there as a weekend morning anchor/reporter. It’s serendipitous her broadcasting career brought to Arkansas because that is where she met her husband, Phillip.
Laura reported on historic flooding along the Arkansas River, a former gang member-turned pastor and the harrowing story of two men who were shot while helping a stranded driver and survived.
Laura is a Columbia College Chicago graduate. During her sophomore year, she got a competitive internship at NBC Chicago where she was able learn from some of the best anchors, reporters and producers in the TV news business.
She’s also worked at KODE in Joplin, Missouri and KTVO in Kirksville, Missouri/ Ottumwa, Iowa.
Laura has a passion for health and fitness. She loves sharing tips about how to make wellness a priority while navigating a busy life and career.
She also produces an online series called “Simon Says” aimed at motivating, uplifting and inspiring people.
Laura is an advocate for Alzheimer’s awareness and can’t wait to get involved with this year’s Guns & Hoses events.
She is beyond grateful to be home, working at FOX 2 with journalists that inspired her to pursue this career in the first place.
