Mitch McCoy

Mitch McCoy is an award-winning investigative journalist who fights to expose wrongdoing and hold the powerful accountable.

He joined FOX 2 News in April 2023 after spending nearly eight years in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he was an investigative reporter and breaking news anchor at KARK-TV. Mitch’s reporting has led him across the country to cover families affected by crime, mass shootings, tornadoes, multiple hurricanes, and Arkansas’ mass executions.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-America Chapter awarded Mitch and others in 2016 for their severe weather coverage during a tornado outbreak.

He briefly stepped away from TV news in 2019 to work as a law enforcement media specialist but returned to KARK 4 News in 2020.

During a 2021 investigation, Mitch exposed an Arkansas judge for constantly denying defendants the public defender. Mitch was asked to testify before state lawmakers to provide insight into the issue. The judge was reprimanded by the State Supreme Court. Mitch’s reporting was recognized with a Regional Edward R. Murrow and EMMY for Investigative Reporting.

In 2023, Mitch was awarded a Regional Edward R. Murrow for his Podcast into the murder of Sydney Sutherland. The podcast reviews the high-profile case that garnered national headlines when the 25-year-old woman went on a run and was later found dead.

Mitch is excited about living and working in St. Louis because it’s where most of his family roots are.
