Vernon Smith Jr. from Bloomington, Illinois is a news producer and reporter at FOX 2. He has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mass Communication from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Vernon was heavily involved on campus while attending SIUE joining organizations like: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Collegiate 100, Black Student Union and National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Making many connections and earning high honor achievements in school, Vernon was the Bachelors of Science Commencement Speaker for his graduation class in Fall 2021.
