FLORISSANT, MO. (KTVI) – A 13-year-old at Cross Keys Middle School in the Ferguson-Florissant school district was taken into custody Thursday morning for bring a .38 caliber pistol to school.
The student has approached his teacher, telling him that he did not think he should have brought an item in his backpack to school.
The teacher notified the schools administration, who in turned contacted the Florissant police.
Police determined the gun was unloaded, but that the student did have one bullet in his possession.
The teen was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention Center. The case is being turned over to St. Louis Family Court.
