MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI)-One dollar goes a very long way to make a huge difference for those who cannot afford to heat their homes. The 15th Annual Hardee’s Rise ‘N Shine for Heat fundraiser was held Friday.  For a donation of $1 or more, participants got a Sausage 'N Eggs sandwich with all the money benefiting .

Early numbers show that the event raised a record- breaking $275,000. The money will be used to help seniors, the disabled and the needy, pay their heating bills.

650 volunteers served as greeters at area Hardee’s restaurants Friday morning to collect those donations.
