2 families displaced following early morning fire in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KTVI)- A fire caused sever damage to two Jefferson County homes Monday morning. Firefighters from multiple departments responded.

It happened in the 2800 block of Highway W around 4:30 a.m.

Firefighters say the fire started in a shed and quickly spread to the connecting home and neighboring home. The families inside were able to escape unharmed. The American Red Cross is helping the displaced families.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
