ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Brazen vandals at a South County car wash were caught on surveillance camera early Sunday morning.

Police believe the same suspects may have spray-painted a swastika on an electrical box near a stop light moments earlier.

Brian Joachimstaler was disgusted looking at the surveillance video at his Classic Car Wash on Lemay Ferry near Butler Hill.

The place was smashed and trashed.

Surveillance video shows two white male suspects, possibly in their late teens or early 20’s, stumbling into the parking lot.  One appears intoxicated;  one of them hangs on the clearance bar at the entrance of the automatic drive thru wash and tears it down;  then uses the clearance bar to break the enter & exit light;  the other suspect launches the trash can in the parking.

You get a great look at one of them breaking out an overhead light in the drive thru wash.  He then throws the clearance bar trying to knock out another light in the parking lot.

One suspect appears to shake a can of spray paint which police believe may have been used down the street.

“The officers wanted to know if I found a black spray paint can because a black swastika was painted on wanted the electrical boxes,” Joachimstaler said.  “I want people to know I have cameras up everywhere here.  That’s the thing I’ve got signs up everywhere and cameras up everywhere.  They weren’t smart enough to see that…I would just like them to have to pay the consequences.  That’s more important to me than the dollars – seeing them have to pay for what they did.”

The damages would be in thousands of dollars, he said, plus lost business.  It may take a week or more to fix the drive thru wash which was bound to busy with the dry, sunny, weather coming.

The plate-glass window of a store front across the street was broken out, too.

If you recognize either suspect, call St. Louis County Police at (636) 529-8210.
