ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Police say a man admits to stabbing a 5-year-old in the stomach Thursday. The injury was so bad that the child’s intestines came out of his body. Andrew Plaster, 20, is facing charges for child abuse, assault and armed criminal action.
The child was under Plaster’s supervision Thursday in the 1700 block of Herault Place when he was stabbed. Plaster initially told police that he didn’t know what happened. He then said that the child stabbed himself. He then changed his story again, saying he accidentally stabbed the victim. Plaster says the child was stabbed when the two turned into each other while he was holding the knife.
There is no update on the child’s condition.
Plaster is being held on a $500,000 bond.
