Ameren worker injured in electrical accident, South County residents go dark

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) -The power is back on for thousands in south St. Louis County after an Ameren worker was injured on the job. According to Ameren, the worker was injured when he came in contact with electricity around 7pm on Friday. The man was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Around 3,300 people were without power for a time Friday evening. People who live in the area were driving up to the substation near Gravois and Sappington trying to figure out what had happened.

Ameren crews restored power late Friday evening.
